Health Outcomes and the Poor course
In February-March 2011 I did a 6-week online course from the World Bank Institute on the health problems faced by the poor and on pro-poor (health sector) policies. What I found very interesting, was that I approached the course materials and assignments strongly focussing on health outcomes (measuring these and looking at risk-factors), but that my fellow course participants (often from government and NGOs) looked at this from a broader, more policy orientated perspective. So as an epidemiologist I could learn certain things from them and vice versa.
