PHASA conference
From 29 November to 1 December 2010 the 6th conference of the Public Health Association of South Africa (PHASA) was hosted in East London. This conference is always a nice opportunity to meet fellow researchers. The theme of the conference was ‘Healthy environments, healthy people and public health advocacy’. On the first day I attended the PHASA exec meeting and on the second day I had an oral presentation on Validation of verbal autopsies in Rural South Africa; the influence of AIDS mortality (work that I do for Agincourt/Wits university). Furthermore, I was very busy getting people enthusiastic to write articles for the PHASA newsletter. I now have been appointed as the editor of the newsletter and webmaster of the new website of PHASA (that Red Earth Webdesign is building).
