For the WHO South Africa Country office I conducted the malaria mid-term review (MTR) of the malaria elimination strategic plan 2012-2018 of South Africa. This included a document review of e.g. relevant policies, plans, reviews, scientific literature. I also travelled to the three endemic provinces (KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga) where I had meetings with the malaria teams, and I did so as well with the National Malaria Directorate. I was furthermore actively involved in the external review week where malaria experts from other countries were reviewing the work done up so far. And finally, I wrote the MTR report.
For the WHO I went to Croatia to attend a meeting on the development of HIV treatment cascades.
