Introduction to biostatistics
This 3-day introductory course (which can be combined with a 5-day introduction to epidemiology) focuses mainly on descriptive statistics.
This is done by familiarizing participants with:
- Measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and variability (range, interquartile range, standard deviation)
- Data presentation (tables, graphs, charts).
- Hypothesis testing (p-value) and statistical tests (unpaired t-test and chi-squared test).
- Introducing the statistical package SPSS
